Looks like A. Rod is back in the gym, but not the kind you would expect.

Former New York Yankees superstar Alex Rodriguez is now a gym owner. Rodriguez purchased the UFC Gym in Kendall, Florida, according to the Miami Herald.

Rodriguez has also gained development rights to continue opening more UFC-branded gym’s in the Miami area.

“As a Miami native, I am thrilled to now expand the UFC GYM brand across Miami,” Rodriguez said in a statement, reported by the Miami Herald. “The UFC GYM brand represents the best in fitness. Starting with our Kendall facility, all of our members will have the opportunity to transform their lives with some of the most innovative training techniques utilized by the best athletes in the world.”

This is the sixth UFC Gym to open up in Florida, other locations include Winter Springs and Fort Lauderdale . The MMA-inspired gym has over 150 locations in the United States and recently went international to Dubai. The family friendly facilities offer training for kids to adults, including various group fitness classes and personal training.

While this is Rodriguez’s first US gym-business venture, he first joined the fitness industry in 2011. Rodriguez, along with 24 Hour Fitness founder Mark Mastrov, own high-end luxury gyms in Mexico, called Energy. Needless to say, the 24-foot octagon and mixed martial arts training at UFC Gym make this a new world for the former Yankee.

UFC Gym Kendall is located at the corner of Kendall Drive and 107th Ave in Miami. Membership rates start between $49-$89 per month, depending on the plan.
