With men’s golf basking in the afterglow of Justin Rose’s historic gold medal performance over Henrik Stenson and Matt Kuchar’s come-from-behind performance to win bronze on Sunday at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, all eyes now turn to Monday’s start of the 116th USGA’s U.S. Amateur Men’s Golf Championship at Oakland Hills Country Club (South/North Courses) in Bloomfield, Michigan.

And with four up-and-coming golfers from New Jersey entered, the event hits close to home.
Daniel O’Rourke of New Milford, Luke Graboyes of Watchung, Danny Harcourt of Fanwood, and Jeremy Nevius of Mountainside are all part of the 312-player field which tees off Monday.

The U.S. Amateur consists of 36 holes of stroke play on Monday and Tuesday, where the low 64 scorers will move onto six rounds of match-play beginning on Wednesday.

The quarterfinals and semifinals are slated for Thursday and Friday and the 36-hole championship is scheduled for Saturday.

Oakland Hills Country Club is a 6,849-yard, par-70 layout.
