Jets Fire General Manager Mike Maccagnan

Shocking news coming out of Florham Park, NJ as news dropped today that Jets’ General Manager Mike Maccagnan has been relieved of his duties by Christopher Johnson and ownership.  Head Coach Adam Gase is taking over as interim General Manager until a replacement is found.  The statement by the Jets’ ownership is below.

The news of Maccagnan’s firing comes as a surprise to most, but according to Ian Rapoport there were disagreements between Gase and Maccagnan on how money was spent.  The two focal points of these disagreements were the contract size of both Le’Veon Bell and C.J. Mosley.
