NBA Finals

This weekend the top trends in sports included the final game of the series in the NBA Playoffs against the Clippers and the Houston Rockets.  The Clippers were never really in the game on Sunday, as they were turning the ball over and seemed to let go of opportunity after opportunity.  Houston maintained control for the duration of the game.

Indy 500

Ed Carpenter hit the wall coming out of Turn 2 during the morning practice, and thankfully he was not injured.  According to USA Today “Ed Carpenter’s car crashed and turned upside down Saturday morning, during the opening minutes of practice before qualifying.”  In response to the crash, IndyCar officials announced changes to cars and teams were ordered to “lower turbocharger boost levels to their pre-qualifying levels.”

Preakness

The bad weather did not stop the favorite, American Pharoah from pulling off a victory at Pimlico Race Course.  Bob Baffert’s name was trending for quite awhile after the win.  American Pharoah, is on deck to compete for the Triple Crown, now that he has both the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness, under his belt.  Baffert was not ready to discuss the Triple Crown when he spoke with media.  Regardless, this will be Baffert’s fourth attempt at a Triple Crown, something he might have on his mind in weeks to come.

NHL Playoffs

The Anaheim Ducks lead the Chicago Blackhawks, and the New York Rangers are up over the Tampa Bay Lightning, both with a 1-0 lead.

There were other trends including the #WWEPayback and #UFC . . . Feel free to share your thoughts on what else should be included in this weekend’s trends.
