Football New York Jets Send Kansas City Chiefs to Fourth Straight Loss in 38-31 Win by Stephen Ur December 3, 2017 The New York Jets hosted the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday afternoon. Cornerback Darrelle Revis returned to MetLife to play his former team as a team captain for Kansas City. It was tight end Travis Kelce who stole the show in the beginning of the game. Kelce caught two touchdown in the first five minutes of the game. He would finish with receptions for yards and touchdowns. New York was down, but not out. They would score 14 consecutive points – a one-yard touchdown from Bilal Powell and a one-yard touchdown from Josh McCown – and the game was tied at 14 after one. It was a quiet second quarter. The biggest piece of action was when the Chiefs missed a 38-yard field goal. It wasn’t until there were 23 seconds left in the first half that a team reached the end zone. McCown found Matt Forte on an 11-yard strike and the Jets took a 21-17 lead into the locker room. Following a Jets field goal in the second half, Alex Smith connected with Tyreek Hill on a 79-yard touchdown to tie the game at 24. New York would tack on another field goal for a 27-24 lead. Another field goal made it 30-24 at the end of the third quarter. Smith threw his fourth touchdown of the day, his second to Hill, gave Kansas City a 31-30 lead. McCown rushed for his second one-yard touchdown of the game to give the Jets a 38-31 lead following a successful two-point conversion. On a 4th and 6, a Smith pass was incomplete and the Jets took over with 45 seconds left. They would win, 38-31. They will travel to take on the Denver Broncos next week. As for Kansas City, the loss for them is their fourth in a row and their sixth in seven games following a 5-0 start. They’re now at 6-6 on the season.
