MMA Paige VanZant to main event UFC on FOX 22 against Michelle Waterson by Daniel Yanofsky October 12, 2016 Today was basically like winning the lottery for UFC fans. Dana White just loves to give everyone an opportunity, and he always does it in a big way. Hours after announcing that Ronda Rousey was set to return to the octagon, Dana announced another main event fight. While on UFC Tonight, Daniel Cormier and Kenny Florian asked the UFC President about the main event for UFC on FOX 22. After a slight pause, Dana announced that Paige VanZant will main event the UFC’s return to Sacramento on December 17th. Her opponent will be Michelle Waterson httpss://twitter.com/ufc/status/786358463907586050 VanZant (7-2) is coming off an impressive win against Bec Rawlings (7-5) at UFC on FOX 21. The 22-year old has been looking to prove she is the hottest commodity in UFC today. With appearances outside of the octagon including a stint on Dancing with the Stars, the 22-year old is looking to continue her momentum. Waterson (13-4) last fought on July 2015 at the TUF 21 Finale. The “Karate Hottie” is returning from a broken hand. The 30-year old should not be taken lightly, and will look to show Dana White that she’s the toughest strawweight in the UFC. UFC on FOX 22 is shaping up to be a solid card. Mickey Gall and Sage Northcutt was recently announced and this addition enhances the desire for fans. I consider it the “card of the future”. Lets hope everyone involved can live up to the challenge.
