The Penn Quakers defeated Columbia in their largest blowout victory since 2010. Penn dominated 42-7, for their 19th straight win over the Lions. The win streak is the fifth longest in FCS history over an annual opponent. Penn has not lost in the rivalry since 1996.

Freshman WR Christian Pearson earned rookie of the week honors for the Quakers after an impressive game. Pearson had a career high 10 receptions, 126 receiving yards, and a touchdown. With his 10 receptions, he set a freshman school record. Seven of Pearson’s 10 receptions led to first downs and almost led him to two other touchdowns before being taken down just yards away from the end zone. His receptions did lead to a touchdown at the end of the first half and in the third quarter.

Penn senior linebacker Tyler Drake recorded five tackles (1 solo) and one interception. Junior quarterback Alek Torgersen passed for three touchdowns and 296 yards. He went 19 of 29 in passing. Drake and Togersen also received weekly honors for their performance against the Lions.

Up next, Penn will host Quaker Fan Fest before their game against Yale as part of the Family Weekend celebration. The event will feature music, giveaways, prizes, and special deals at the local restaraunts. The matchup against Yale will be the first ever nationally televised night game at the nation’s oldest collegiate football stadium, Frankin Field on Friday night. NBC Sports will broadcast the game. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
