Pro Wrestling Report: Chris Hero heading back to WWE by Daniel Yanofsky December 11, 2016 It looks like a reunion is happening between WWE and the hottest independent wrestling act in professional wrestling today. According to the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer on f4wonline.com, Chris Hero may be WWE bound once again. If true, it is unconfirmed if he would go back to NXT or join the main roster right away. After dominating the competition in Ring of Honor, among other places, Chris Hero had a brief run in WWE around 2012 under the name Kassius Ohno (A name he might be using again) with ROH tag team partner Cesaro. He was a part of their developmental system Florida Championship Wrestling, before it transitioned to the version of NXT we know today. During his time there, there were reports he wasn’t committed to WWE’s physical conditioning programs. It is interesting seeing him today, especially since he has gotten better and better each time he enters the ring (even without a “proper physique”). Hero was released in 2013, but stated there would be a door open for a WWE return. Since then, Hero’s career has skyrocketed. He has had a monster 2016, performing for various promotions. This year alone Hero has wrestled for Evolve, All Pro Wrestling, PWG, Smash, Beyond, House of Hardcore, PROGRESS, Dragon Gate USA, Ring of Honor and a few others. He has put on some great matches, and has elevated his “Knockout Artist” gimmick to a level not seen before. PW Insider recently reported that WWE would be going into “signing mode” soon. This wouldn’t be the first time they have attempted to sign top talent outside of their company. There are rumors that Adam Cole will also be a member of their roster soon. The addition of Hero would provide WWE an opportunity to further their lead on the competition. It will be interesting to see how this will play out. Will Hero be used to his highest potential if signed? Will WWE fans give him the proper reaction many think he deserves? It looks like we will have to wait and see.
