After capturing its third straight Big East Conference Championship and an automatic NCAA Tournament berth Sunday at Callawassie Island (SC) Golf Club (Dogwood & Magnolia Courses), Seton Hall learned its fate Monday night during the live NCAA Tournament selection show on The Golf Channel.

Seton Hall, seeded 18th, is headed to the Stanford Regional, which will be held at Stanford Golf Course. The top four seeds in the Stanford regional are: 1-Southern California, 2-Arkansas, 3-Stanford (defending NCAA champion), and 4-Virginia.

“We’re very excited to be on our way to Stanford,” said head coach Sara Doell. “I couldn’t be more proud with the effort this team put forth last weekend. I’m glad we have an opportunity to continue our season and proudly represent Seton Hall at the NCAA’s for a third straight year.”

NCAA Regional play will be contested May 5-7 at four sites with the top six teams advancing from each regional (24 teams) at the NCAA Championship, which will be played May 20-25 at Eugene (Ore.) Country Club.

Seton Hall shot a 71-over, 12 shots better than Georgetown, to capture the Big East title on Sunday.

Last year, Seton Hall was the 16th-seed in the 18-team Raleigh Regional in Raleigh, N.C. The Pirates finished with a 74-over-par, 309-318-311-938, to place 17th.

Fairleigh Dickinson-Teaneck, which won its second straight Northeast Conference crown Sunday, also received an NCAA automatic berth and is seeded 18th in the Baton Rouge (La.) Regional at University Club.

The top four seeds in the Baton Rouge Regional: 1-Duke, 2-Florida, 3-Arizona State, and 4-Washington.

“Louisiana should be fun,” head coach Rob Warren said. “I hear the course is a bit tricky so having not seen it before it could be a challenge, but we have a solid group of players who hit it straight and when you’re in play – you always have a chance. The course has a lot of water and accuracy will be at a premium. It should be an exciting challenge.”

FDU-Teaneck upended Sacred Heart by one stroke to capture its sixth NEC title in the last nine years.
