Football Soul Sore Over Cleveland Gladiators The Soul are one of only two teams to start 4-0 this season. by Stephen Ur April 20, 2015 (Via Philadelphia Soul) The Philadelphia Soul continue their pursuit of perfection as they improve to 4-0 with a 63-48 win over the Cleveland Gladiators. On May 23rd, 2014, the Gladiators beat the Soul, 54-52 on a 11-yard touchdown pass from Shane Austin to Thyron Lewis as time expired. The Gladiators improved to 9-0 at the time, and the Soul fell to 5-5. Now, almost 11 months later, the Soul went into the game against the defending American Conference Champions. Penalties definitely hurt Cleveland in the loss, as the team committed about twice as many penalties as the Soul. A 21-0 scoring run also helped the Soul end a three-game skid against the Gladiators. The Soul are one of only two teams to start 4-0 this season – the other one being the San Jose Sabercats. The rushing game, however, needs improvement. Tommy Haggart leads the team in rushing, but he only has 59 rushing yards on 24 carries. The Soul are undefeated after four games, but if they want to continue their pursuit of perfection, their rushing game needs work.
