Basketball The Pride; Wright-Foreman named CAA Player of the Week after loss to Maryland by Chris Passarelli November 19, 2018 While last week may not have all been rainbows and butterflies after a tough loss to Maryland, the Hofstra Pride have a positive to hang their hat on. Their leader and leading scorer Justin Wright-Foreman has been named the CAA Player of the Week. The Pride dropped a tough one to Maryland, 80-69, after they pretty much outplayed them for most of the game. Wright-Foreman had 27 points, and Hofstra actually went into halftime with the lead, 37-31. Two separate runs by Maryland downed the pride, the first a 12-1 run with 15 minutes to go in the game. The second, and the dagger, was a 9-2 run with about 10 minutes left. Maryland used that run to take a ten point lead and never looked back. However, thanks to Wright-Foreman’s performance, he earned the honor of being named CAA Player of the Week. It’s a dubious honor for a player with sky high expectations. The Hofstra Pride go as Justin Wright-Foreman goes, and without him they’re just not the same team.
