Other Sports The Resurgence of Great Tag Team Wrestling by Staff Post March 1, 2016 Over the past few months, the wrestling world has been quite lucky to see some incredible talent come from the tag team divisions in many promotions. I have waiting to see real tag teams for years. Not the teams that’s been put together because they are failing as solo stars and the chemistry is non existent. No, No, No, I’m talking about the tag teams they have come up the ranks together, they eat, drink and sleep tag team wrestling. They know each other like the back their hand. They know what their partner is thinking of doing before they execute it. They travel together and learn the mannerisms of their peer. Those are the tag teams that give us the heart stopping matches and steal the show and makes the main eventers on the card step it up. So… with further ado, here is my list of outstanding tag teams on the rise right now in NXT. The Vaudevillians With a truly unique look and ring entrance, they are hard to ignore. Aiden English and Simon Gotch have been captivating the NXT crowds since 2014. The amazing mat work and technical skill they possess takes you back to grappling wrestling, which is a refreshing sight in the fast paced, high flying era that we live in now. httpss://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jYNqc34Gt0 American Alpha Chad Gable and Jason Jordan have hit the tag team scene like a typhoon. Debuting as a tag team in July 2015, these two former amateur wrestlers have brought a legit technical and submission based style to NXT and they leave you breathless. Chad Gable is a talent that is rarely found in pro wrestling. His submission style makes me feel like I’m looking at a protege of Kurt Angle and Stu Hart. He is going to be a huge star in the business. The chemistry that these two quickly developed is quite evident in their matches. I can see these two going far and being the stand out tag team for the main roster for years to come. httpss://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alQZOuEzPoM Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder Now this is my old school rough and tough brawler tag team right here. They were born to be heels. It just oozes off them. The pit bull like mentality that these two have is horrible for their opponents, but oh so good for the fans. They always isolate their competitors and take turns working on a particular body part until the that person can’t take it anyone. There is no remorse or pity that comes from these guys. They are going to rid you to shreds and mock you while they do it. Their promos are self serving, harsh and mean. They have given every tag team a reason to hate them. And I love them for it! httpss://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgzKRkrf8aM Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano Starting their journey in NXT competing in the the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament this summer, this formation easily got over with the crowd and instantly proved that they belong with the other tag teams there. You can’t turn your head for a minute when these two are wrestling because you will miss something. Their cat like precision is dazzling and they don’t take away from telling a great story in the ring with too many high spots. They haven’t been tagging too much over the past two months but i have enjoyed the times that when seen these two tear the roof off of Full Sail as a team. httpss://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6g-Av8pKang Enzo Amore and Colin Cassidy These two are the prime example of what I would say happens when you take your time and let something grow organically. You don’t rush to make a big impact. You become a student of the game, learn your strengths and weaknesses and bring that together to make a great tag team. Enzo is the stronger talker and the charismatic one in the group, Colin is the the muscle. That was always the established roles. However, since the feud with Dash and Dawson that started in the summer, Ive seen a great change in this tag team. In my opinion, Enzo has improved tremendously with his in ring skills and Colin has finally let out that mean streak and realized his size and dominance is the key to be on top in the tag team division. They needed to face a heel tag team to push them and bring out those strengths. Now the in ring skills match the mic work. 2016 is going to be a great year for them. It was already topped off with them winning Tag Team of the Year. Congrats guys!! httpss://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyaAPANloys Okay there you have it. NXT has done a great job with scouting out amazing tag teams and giving them the platform to rebuild a division that has been dead for the past few years. Mainly on the main roster. I know that there are greater things to come, so I will just stay tuned in to one of the best shows out there, NXT!! I leave you with a special treat. A bonus match. Enjoy! httpss://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vy2a7FwjsmA Post Views: 1,360 The following two tabs change content below.BioLatest Posts Staff Post Latest posts by Staff Post (see all) In The Zone Announces Initial Podcast Lineup - November 13, 2020 The Essential Resources You Need to Start Your Own Gym in 2020 - February 6, 2020 Wilder vs Fury II – How the second fight will be different to the first? - February 5, 2020 Early turnovers, defensive struggles plague the Scarlet Knights - January 26, 2020 Related TopicsWrestling Click to comment You must be logged in to post a comment Login Leave a Reply Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
