The most recent venture for Williams is the launch of a vegan protein brand, Happy Viking. Reportedly, the first product the company produces will be a pre-made, plant-based protein shake in vanilla bean and triple chocolate flavors. The meat alternative food and beverage market is growing at tremendous pace, and athletes around the world have taken notice. Shaquille O’Neal, Kyrie Irving, DeAndre Hopkins, Kirk Cousins, Chris Paul, and Serena Williams are among athletes that have made large investments in such companies. In the U.S. alone, plant-based food retail sales reached $5 billion in 2019 and many experts suggest the market will be worth $74.2 billion by 2027. Venus Williams’ business portfolio has become extensive In 2002, the tennis star founded an interior design company, V Starr Interiors. The company is now worth up to $60 million. She also has a fitness and athletic/leisure apparel brand, EleVen. Williams is also a minority investor in the Miami Dolphins, along with her sister Serena.
