Pro Wrestling WWE’s Alberto Del Rio Attacked by a Fan in Puerto Rico by Daniel Yanofsky December 7, 2015 Current WWE United States Champion Alberto Del Rio was attacked by a fan this past weekend at a World Wrestling Council match against Ray Gonzalez in Puerto Rico. During his match, Del Rio left the ring, when a fan suddenly decided to assault him with his fists. Security quickly separated them, with Gonzalez helping out, and Del Rio was able to finish the match. The fan was then escorted out by security. httpss://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXXspaulrHk Del Rio was fulfilling a commitment he made before re-signing with WWE this fall. Part of his new deal with WWE is that he can complete any obligation that was made before his return. It appears that Del Rio was not hurt after the attack. This incident could potentially make WWE rethink allowing talents to fulfill other commitments. Del Rio is currently in a program as a member of the newly formed League of Nations with new WWE World Heavyweight Champion Sheaumus. The U.S. Champion is also in a mini feud with The All-American American Jack Swagger over Del Rio’s “MexAmerica” movement.
