Yankees to Honor Hank Steinbrenner During 2020 Season

In honor of former general partner and co-chairperson Henry G. “Hank” Steinbrenner, the Yankees will be wearing a patch on their uniform for the 2020 season.

Steinbrenner passed away on April 14, 2020 at the age of 63. He began working for the New York Yankees in 1980 under his father’s ownership of the team. Hank Steinbrenner was also known for his outspoken nature. He spent most of his career working remotely from the Yankees’ office in Tampa, Florida.

The commemorative patches read the initials “HGS” and will be worn on the left sleeve of the Yankees’ home and road uniforms for the entire regular season and postseason.
