College Rutgers Football Earns High Praise For APR by Staff Post May 27, 2015 John Munson | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com) Last Wednesday, Academic Progress Rating (APR) scores were released, and Rutgers football ranked in the top 10 percent in the country among NCAA Division-I schools. “That is a tremendous honor for this program,” head coach Kyle Flood said in a statement. “This is an accomplishment that the entire program takes pride in. Our students work extremely hard to meet the high academic standards that have been set. Our continued academic success is a credit to the dedicated work of Jenna Beverly, Bill Bailey, Ramel Meekins and the entire academic support staff.” Rutgers football joined the Universities’ women’s golf and lacrosse teams in the top 10 percent. Today, it is learned that Rutgers finished tied for 12th with a multi-year APR score of 980 out of 1,000. This score is based on calculations from the 2010-2011 school year, to 2013-2014. The Scarlet Knights join fellow Big Ten Conference Members with scores 980 or better in Wisconsin, Michigan, Northwestern, and Nebraska. Ryan Dunleavy of the Asbury Park Press described APR as, “a real-time look at a team’s academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student on scholarship. APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation and provides a measure of each team’s academic performance.” Post Views: 1,200 The following two tabs change content below.BioLatest Posts Staff Post Latest posts by Staff Post (see all) In The Zone Announces Initial Podcast Lineup - November 13, 2020 The Essential Resources You Need to Start Your Own Gym in 2020 - February 6, 2020 Wilder vs Fury II – How the second fight will be different to the first? - February 5, 2020 Early turnovers, defensive struggles plague the Scarlet Knights - January 26, 2020 Related TopicsAPRBig TenRutgersRutgers Football Click to comment You must be logged in to post a comment Login Leave a Reply Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
