Barry Trotz wins Jack Adams Award

Barry Trotz also took hardware home, taking home the Jack Adams Award that’s given to the “NHL coach adjudged to have contributed the most to his teams success”.  Trotz won in a bit of a runaway, taking it home with 430 points to second place John Cooper’s 350.

Trotz becomes the second coach in Islander history to win the Jack Adams Award, as Al Arbour had also won the award.  Trotz also became the first Jack Adams winner to accept the award with a burger in hand, as Kel Mitchell from Good Burger gave him one.

Trotz accepted the award on behalf of the team and stated that it’s a team award and he wouldn’t be there without the help of his team, the ownership and the coaches on his staff.
