I recognized a few of the apps, but there were also a couple I had never heard of. So, I went ahead and tested some of the apps on their list and selected my top 3 favorites. I’ll provide a short review for each below.

ESPN Fantasy Sports – Rating: 4.5, Downloads: 5M+

The first app I selected is ESPN Fantasy Sports. I must admit that ESPN did a great job at creating a fantasy sports app. And, I guess it makes sense considering they manage a wide range of data and information on practically any sport. I liked that you can play any variety of fantasy sports including fantasy football, fantasy baseball, fantasy basketball, and fantasy hockey, all in one place. I also liked that you can create your own logo for your fantasy team, as it is something you can’t usually do in other fantasy sports apps. And, to top it off, I really like how you can get instant sports updates on how your players are performing, so you can make any important trades at the right moment.

The only thing I am not a fan of is the loading time when you first start the app. It is amazing how ESPN Fantasy Sports can excel with so many neat features, but then fail on something so simple. However, there is a vast amount of information built into the app, so I guess that is where the loading time comes from. Hopefully, the developers can work out some way to speed it up!

Pros: Multiple fantasy sports, create your own team logo, instant sports updates.

Cons: Slow loading time.

Overall: Play all your favorite fantasy sports in one place, but keep in mind that the loading time is a bit slow.

DraftKings – Rating: 4.8, Downloads: 1M+

The second fantasy sports app that I picked is DraftKings. What I really like about it is the fact that you can play practically any fantasy sport, including football, baseball, hockey, golf, tennis, soccer, NASCAR and even League of Legends! I also liked that you have the option to create a team for free if you don’t want to spend any money. Another plus I found is that you are not locked into your team for the whole season, as you can change your lineup anytime you want.

While I found DraftKings to be a really great fantasy sports app overall, I am not fond of the interface design. Compared to my other picks, DraftKing’s interface does end up on the bland side. However, I must say that it is intuitive and easy to use, so it just comes down to getting used to its minimalistic design.

Pros: Multiple fantasy sports, option for creating a team for free, change lineup anytime.

Cons: Interface design could be better.

Overall: Create any fantasy sports team without the need to spend a cent, although you might find the interface to be a bit bland and simplistic.

Fantasy Football – Rating: 4.4, Downloads: 5M+

Last but not least, my third pick is NFL’s Fantasy Football. I found this to be the ultimate fantasy sports app for any football fan. Not only can you view detailed player statistics and up-to-date news on their performance, but you can also get direct advice from NFL experts to help you assemble your fantasy team. I also liked how you can get instant updates on game highlights, so you always know exactly how your fantasy team is performing. Another plus I found is that you can play in a league of your own creation, or you can play in a public league and compete with other football fans around the world.

Unlike the other apps I picked, this one is exclusively for creating a fantasy football team. However, I found that it truly excels in its category as you have instant access to NFL’s news and statistics coupled with valuable insight from NFL experts. If you want to create a fantasy team in a sport other than football, you might prefer one of my other picks.

Pros: Detailed player statistics, NFL expert advice, create your own league or compete in a public league.

Cons: Fantasy football only.

Overall: Build your dream fantasy football team with the help of NFL’s experts, but you will need to look elsewhere if you want to create a fantasy team in another sport.
