Other Sports Destination America Reportedly Canceling TNA Impact by Staff Post May 22, 2015 It seems like TNA can’t catch much of a break. Last Friday, it was announced that their weekly TV taping “Impact Wrestling” would be moving to Wednesday nights beginning June 3, 2015. Now, it’s being reported that Destination America officials made the decision to cancel the show and other programming from the Nashville. Tennessee-based company. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s own, Dave Meltzer, all TNA programming will cease to air on Destination America at the end of the third quarter of the year. There have been two major factors that have gone into the alleged cancellation of TNA shows. One being the ratings, (while still being considered good) the numbers aren’t high enough, to justify the cost of the programming. The second deal breaker being the cable network’s advertisers not wanting to advertise during Impact Wrestling. This decision by Destination America was meant to stay a secret for a while. Public acknowledgement is expected to be made when the station reveals its 2015-2016 television season prime-time lineup.
