Health/Fitness How to Stay Fit During the Holidays by Brittany LaPlant December 26, 2019 Let’s talk about fitness during the holidays! The holidays are a time meant to be enjoyed with your friends and family. It’s okay if the next week is a little bit less about training, macros, dieting, and a little bit more about making memories, eating good food, relaxing, and spending time with the people that you love and cherish. As I’ve said in the past, living a healthy lifestyle is all about finding balance. It’s important to enjoy everything that comes with the holidays, just remember to pick up where you left off after they’re over! Don’t try and keep yourself from enjoying the food and activities you love. Instead, be aware of what you’re eating and don’t be too hard on yourself. This week doesn’t have to be perfect! Maybe try to get a few workouts in, either at home or at a gym, and keep it simple. As long as you’re enjoying your time, don’t worry if things don’t go exactly as you planned! Especially with the new year approaching, right now is a great time to take a step back, and make a plan for the upcoming year. Spend this time reflecting on this past year, and brainstorming about the goals you want to set for yourself in the upcoming year. Be proud of what you’ve accomplished so far. Push to become a better version of yourself next year. I have a plan for the next ten days. I have a plan for 2020. If I miss a workout, I’m not going to stress. If I can fit in an extra one, fantastic! Overthinking and stressing about what you’re NOT doing enough of during the holidays is only going to make this time of the year so much less enjoyable. Mental health is just as important as physical health, always remember that. Take this time to reflect and relax. Enjoy your time with your loved ones and have a very happy holidays!
