Football New York Giants Crumble to Dallas Cowboys, 30-10 by Stephen Ur December 10, 2017 The New York Giants hosted the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Eli Manning was back under the helm after being benched last week in Oakland. It was also the first game for interim coach Steve Spagnuolo. After a 14-play drive, the Giants defense held the Cowboys to just a field goal. The Giants first possession would carry on into the second quarter as the Cowboys held a 3-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. New York would tie the game with a 39 yard field goal of their own. It wasn’t until just over the two-minute warning when the Giants took a 10-3 lead when Manning found Rhett Ellison on a short touchdown pass. Dallas would tie the game on the ensuing drive when Dak Prescott and Dez Bryant connected on a 50 yard touchdown. The NFC East rivals would go into the locker room tied at 10. Defense – and offensive miscues – controlled the third quarter. Neither team put up any points and the game remained tied at 10 at the end of three. Halfway through the fourth quarter, Prescott found Witten on a 20 yard touchdown to give Dallas a 17-10 lead. Three minutes later, on a 3rd and 5, Prescott connected with Rod Smith on a short pass. Smith then took the pass 81 yards for the game-clinching touchdown. Manning would throw an interception on the Giants’ ensuing drive and that would be the icing on the cake. Dallas would go on to win by a final score of 30-10. The Giants fall to 2-11 on the season. They will host the Philadelphia Eagles next week at MetLife Stadium.
