College Princeton QB John Lovett Named Co-Offensive Player of the Week by Ivy League by Lou Monaco November 22, 2016 John Lovett (Via Go Princeton Tigers) The Princeton Tigers football team, coming off its co-Ivy League Championship with Pennsylvania on Saturday, received more good news on Monday. Princeton junior quarterback John Lovett was named the conference’s co-offensive player of the week, along with Penn senior quarterback Alek Torgersen. Lovett accounted for three touchdowns to lead his team to a win that gave the Tigers a share of the Ivy League title. Lovett passed for one touchdown and ran for two more, giving him a Princeton single-season record of 20 rushing TDs on the season, the sixth Ivy Leaguer all-time to reach 20 rushing TDs in a single year. Lovett earned his fourth Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season, the seventh Ivy Leaguer all-time to accomplish the feat and first since Yale’s Tyler Varga in 2014. Lovett is the second Tiger to earn four Offensive Player of the Week awards in a single season, joining former Princeton quarterback Quinn Epperly, who had six in 2013. One other Tiger received accolades this week with a selection to the Ivy League Honor Roll: Senior linebacker Rohan Hylton, who registered a total of nine tackles, including five solo, and one interception in Princeton’s 38-21 home victory against Dartmouth last Saturday.
