Pro Wrestling SPOILERS: Former Ring of Honor star Roderick Strong makes his NXT debut by Daniel Yanofsky October 14, 2016 Last night, I stated that a juicy spoiler could entice a fan into watching the product they love. In NXT, that seems to always be the case. Besides Mickie James being announced for NXT TakeOver: Toronto, there was some more huge news to come out of the TV tapings. Former Ring of Honor World Champion Roderick Strong made his NXT debut last night, revealing himself as Austin Aries’ mystery partner for the the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. It appears that the team of “Generation Next” has returned in full force, looking to take over WWE. Triple H, the man most likely responsible for the move, took to Twitter with a simple message regarding the signing: httpss://twitter.com/TripleH/status/786716672979824640 Strong spent his time in Ring of Honor from 2003-2016, earning the nickname “Mr. ROH”. He has won all the major titles for ROH and is a one-time PWG World Champion. The “Messiah of the Backbreaker” spoke to WWE.com to discuss his decision to join NXT. When asked what the NXT Universe can expect from him, Strong responded (In full heel mode): “They can expect every single one of the guys on the NXT roster to fall, one, by one. Roddy vs. the World starts now!” A fan favorite for quite some time on the independent scene, a different atmosphere will be great for him. I can’t wait to see how far Strong and Aries will go in the tournament, and what his future plans are in WWE.
