The first UFC pay-per-view hosted at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center has changed from UFC 209 to UFC 208, according to Brian Martin of the Los Angeles Daily News.

UFC 208 was originally scheduled to take place January 21st at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The very same night promotion rival, Bellator MMA is scheduled for Bellator 170 headlined by UFC vets Chael Sonnen and Tito Ortiz in Inglewood, California at the Forum.

Last night, rumors started circulating around a featherweight bout between UFC Women’s Bantamweight Holly Holm and Featherweight Cris Cyborg when this promotional picture was posted.

When a Twitter follower inquired to MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani regarding UFC 208 and why no bouts had been announced, he suggested a Cyborg Featherweight title bout (see tweet below). Cyborg replied to Helwani stating she would not be ready for UFC 208 (then still dated for January 21st) due to her last weight cut and suggested end of February/March.

Is the date change due to the conflicting Bellator 170 or to accommodate a Women’s 145-pound debut between Cyborg and Holm?

Sidenote: If UFC 209 gets moved to Las Vegas in March, this could make a Diaz PPV after all. #Stockton209
