As European clubs prepare for their seasons, they challenge themselves with in-form, in-season clubs such as those of MLS.

One of the newest members of the Premier League, Bournemouth tested its mettle against Philadelphia Union of MLS and showed its class walking away with a comfortable 1-4 victory.

Bournemouth, who played last season in The Championship, scored goals in the 20th minute from Joshua King who joined Bournemouth on a free transfer from Blackburn and in the 26th minute, Callum Wilson scored to open up a 2-0 lead.

Wilson, who scored 20 goals for Bournemouth last season, was instrumental in leading his squad to the Premier League for the upcoming 2015/16 campaign, and Bournemouth supporters had to love seeing him score in his side’s opening match of the preseason.

The Union’s brightest moment came in the 35th minute when Richie Marquez found the net to bring the Union within 1.

They would get to the half down 2-1 and had to feel as if they could get on level terms with the EPL side in the second half.

However, Bournemouth showed why it is a Premier League side when they regained a two-goal advantage when Marc Pugh scored in the 62nd minute, and then capped the scoring on a PK in the 85th minute to close out a 4-1 win at PPL Park.
