Winning bets to place for Week 7 NFL games

Entering Week 7, the NFL season is officially in full swing and so is the betting action at online sportsbooks across the United States.

Whether the games are played on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday, pro football remains king. Every week, a massive slate of NFL games means an outpouring of interest from the public and the gambling industry has responded by creating far more opportunities for the average fan.

Betting sites in New Jersey and other states where wagering is legal are offering various bet types such as props, parlays, and teasers along with dozens of different markets for every single game, so it’s no wonder that the interest in betting on football is so high.

With another huge slate of games coming up, there is plenty to choose from. So we’ll give some of our Week 7 NFL game predictions and supply you with a three-team teaser to roll with on Sunday.

Packers vs. Texans Picks | Here Come All The Points In Houston

On most occasions, betting the over is far more fun than taking the under because you get to root for points. Where taking an over becomes harder to stomach is when the number is so high that there’s little margin for error when it comes to scoring.

That’s exactly the case in this Week 7 matchup between Green Bay and Houston. The total opened around 55.5 and sits at 56.5 or 57 at most sportsbooks. On most occasions, I’d recommend waiting for this total to reach its highest point before betting the under. But this time, hop on this total before it gets any higher because these two may reach 60+ points.

The Packers and Texans both rank in the bottom seven in the NFL in defensive efficiency and both also rank in the top eight in offensive efficiency. With no defenses or whether to slow these offenses down, it’s hard to envision anything less than a shootout.

Bucs vs. Raiders Predictions | Week 7 SNF Picks

Recent results have both of these teams trending upward, so which way do we go with our Sunday Night Football predictions? We are simply following the early money.

Tampa Bay opened as 2.5-point favorites and ballooned to four-point favorites by Thursday morning. That means anyone who hasn’t taken the Buccaneers just lost value because Tampa needs to win by a touchdown, but we’re willing to take the chance at Bucs -4 (-110)  before this number grows even more.

Las Vegas’ passing offense has been humming, but that’s exactly where Tampa Bay’s defense excels as one of the best pass-defense units in football. Couple that with \Vegas’ second-to-last run defense against a Bucs offense that just rushed for 158 yards against Green Bay, and we’re taking Tampa minus the points.

Week 7 NFL Teaser Picks

There are several popular bet types during the NFL season and one of those is teasers, a wager with multiple selections that allow the bettor to alter the odds beneficially.

These bets can only be made with spreads and totals, and sportsbooks offer teasers of 6, 6.5, and 7 points when it comes to football. Using FanDuel NFL lines, we can craft a three-team teaser with seven points added to each side for overall odds of +120. Here are our Week 7 teaser picks:

  • Los Angeles Chargers -0.5 (originally -7.5): The Jaguars began to show their true colors last week in an awful loss to Detroit and must travel again this week to face a Chargers team coming off the bye. Los Angeles’ record is not indicative of its performance, and this should be a win.
  • Pittsburgh Steelers +8.5 (originally +1.5): The Steelers started as two-point favorites and this line swung all the way to Tennessee’s favor. Pittsburgh is undefeated and playing extremely well, so we are taking the points and tacking some more on to get more than a touchdown.
  • Kansas City Chiefs -2.5 (originally -9.5): The Broncos played extremely well last week and could be a strong candidate to cover the spread at home against Kansas City. With that said, lowering the number down to under a field goal gives us confidence that Patrick Mahomes can engineer enough drives to win this one.
