College Scarlet Knights’ Special Nights by Staff Post February 14, 2015 While the University of Rutgers men’s basketball team has fallen apart since their win over 4th ranked Wisconsin, the women have thrived and are 17th in the nation on their way to the Big Ten tournament in Illinois. But there’s other things going on in what students at Rutgers University call RAC City. The extravaganzas begin on Valentine’s Day, when the women welcome the Purdue Boilermakers, who the men lost to on Thursday night, on what is being known as pink night. The pink night is to raise awareness for not breast cancer, but cancer in general. As for the men, they will have a special guest at the RAC– Super Bowl XLIX champion and Rutgers Alumni Devin McCourty! Devin and his brother, Jason, who plays for the NFL’s Tennessee Titans, will be signing autographs an hour prior to the men’s game against Indiana on Sunday, February 22nd. This is an exciting time of the year for Rugters basketball. While the men will not be participating in the Big Ten tournament in Chicago, they will be excited to welcome the McCourty twins back to where they earned their degrees. The women will be looking to make fans more aware of cancer while having a late-season push towards a higher ranking in the AP Top 25.
