Two Rutgers Players Included In The Weekly Field Hockey Honors

Two Rutgers Field Hockey players are listed this week by the Big Ten Conference for earning a spot in the Weekly Field Hockey Honors.

Gianna Glatz, sophomore, is named the Defensive Player of the Week and Milena Redlingshoefer, freshman,  is named Freshman of the Week.

Glatz was honored for the three saves in the 1-0 win over Cornell on Saturday before tying a season-high with seven saves, including six in the second half in a game against Princeton. This is her first career Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week award.

Redlingshoefer was recognized for leading the defense to two 1-0 shutout victories on the weekend, including a win over Princeton on Sunday. Princeton is ranked No. 6, making this Rutgers’ highest-ranked win in program history. Redlingshoefer also hindered all nine of Princeton’s penalty corner attempts, which ultimately maintained the shutout win.
