Other Sports Another Late Inning Comeback For The Thunder! by Staff Post May 30, 2011 The Thunder (30-19) scored their five runs in the seventh and eighth innings to overcome a 2-0 deficit and defeat the Portland Seadogs (13-33) in front of a sellout crowd at Hadlock Field. It was another series win for the Thunder who have won eight of the last nine series. With the Thunder losing 2-0 until the top of the seventh inning when Bradley Suttle on second with two outs scored when Cody Johnson smoked a two strike pitch over the centerfield wall to tie the score at 2-2. Shaeffer Hall then turned the ball over to Tim Norton, Hall who went seven innings only giving up one earned run while earning his fourth win of the year. In the eighth inning the Thunder struck again as singles by Addison Maruszak and Corban Joseph put runners at the corners with two outs. An Austin Romine basehit scored Maruszak to give the Thunder a 3-2 lead. On the very next pitch the batter Bradley Suttle tripled to centerfield clearing the the bases and providing a 5-2 Thunder lead. Pitcher Tim Norton of the Thunder retired the last six Seadogs to give the Thunder the series clinching win. It was Norton’s fourth save of the year. Thunder Claps The Thunder play the final game of the five game set today @ 1:00 pm at Hadlock Field. Tune-In to WTSR-FM 93.1 for all the action. The Thunder placed Damon Sublett on the seven day disabled list, the Thunder also activated LHP Naoya Okamato from the disabled list.
