Olympics / Team USA Could we see USWNT Star Carli Lloyd Kick in NFL? by David Malandra Jr. August 28, 2019 Philadelphia: We are less than 48 hours away from the US Women’s National Team playing their second World Cup Victory Tour game as they take on Portugal on Thursday night from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Over the last couple of days, there has been a lot of buzz about what USWNT star, Carli Lloyd, did during her visit to Philadelphia Eagles Training Camp on August 20 when she made a 55-yard field goal. What did you expect? She's a World Champion.@CarliLloyd | #FlyEaglesFly pic.twitter.com/kIwHOABMKa — Philadelphia Eagles (@Eagles) August 20, 2019 https://twitter.com/CarliLloyd/status/1163920167673442304 On Tuesday night, Lloyd threw out the first pitch at the Philadelphia Phillies game and then was interviewed by NBC Sports Philadelphia Gregg Murphy and the question came up about could we see Carli Lloyd play in the NFL During the #Phillies game, @USWNT star Carli Lloyd would talk to @GmurphNBCS about possibility of Kicking in #NFL #PITvsPHI #USWNT pic.twitter.com/DwnRu36kAq — David Malandra Jr (@David_Malandra) August 28, 2019 On August 26, FOX Sports would release a report saying that a couple NFL teams have reached out to Lloyd about kicking for them in a preseason game. EXCLUSIVE: Carli Lloyd has received an offer from an NFL team to kick in a preseason game, her trainer tells our @MrogersFOX. https://t.co/bPL89eLyrz — FOX Sports (@FOXSports) August 27, 2019 Lloyd turned down the offer due to the timing as the NFL preseason ends on August 9, same day the USWNT play their Victory Tour game. Lloyd said that she is excited to play in front of her family, friends and fans in Philadelphia and it’s a record-breaking crowd. The Victory Tour game is at 7 PM on FS1 on Thursday, August 29. The USWNT will hold a public practice at Lincoln Financial Field on Wednesday, August 28 from 5 PM to 6 PM The World Cup Trophy will be on display for the game. By the way, I’m told all four (4) of the @USWNT’s @FIFAWWC trophies will be displayed on Headhouse Plaza at the Linc in a fan zone before Thursday’s game. The gates to that part of the stadium will open at 3:30, with the disclaimer that once you’re in, you’ll have to stay in. — Jonathan Tannenwald (@thegoalkeeper) August 27, 2019 Post Views: 1,338 The following two tabs change content below.BioLatest Posts David Malandra Jr. Beat Reporter covering Philadelphia Union of MLS, USA Men's & Women's Soccer Latest posts by David Malandra Jr. (see all) Philadelphia Union to play first home game in 310 days - August 25, 2020 Sergio Santos Sends Union into Quarterfinals, MLS is Back Tournament - July 26, 2020 Union Draws Orlando City, Finishes 2nd in MLS Group Play - July 21, 2020 Kevin Durant Joins Philadelphia Union Ownership - June 15, 2020 Related TopicsCarli LloydNFlUS Women's National Team Click to comment You must be logged in to post a comment Login Leave a Reply Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
