College Edmonds and Anderson Rush Fordham Past Lafayette by Jason Cordner October 10, 2016 Edmonds A One Man Bulldoser Stop me if you heard this before. Chase Edmonds had another monster game. Edmonds rushed for a school and Patriot League record 359 yards and scored four touchdowns today to lead Fordham to a 58-34 Patriot League in over Lafayette College on Jack Coffey Field. What makes Edmonds’ day ever more remarkable is that he gained the 359 yards (the most by an NCAA Division I player this year) on just 17 carries, averaging 21.1 yards per carry, setting an NCAA FCS record for most yards gained per rush in a game. The four scores brings Edmonds’ scoring total this year to 78 points and his career total to 372, a new Patriot League record. The senior running back clearly has Sundays in the pros in his near future. From Heartbreak To Salvation The Rams were coming of a heartbreaking lost last weekend to Monmouth 42-41. This was a great rebound for the team overall. Quarterback Kevin Anderson threw for three touchdowns proving the offense doesn’t just run through Edmonds. Anderson also ran for over 109 yards, all in the first half. In total the Rams ran for 520 yards. Lost in the offense big day , is how well the defense held it’s own all game. Defensively, Jackson led the Rams with a game-high eleven tackles, nine solo, including one for loss, while Jesse Bramble and George Dawson each had eight stops and Justin Vaughn finished with six tackles, including 4.5 for loss and two sacks. Justin Vaughn left the game in the late in what looked like an arm injury. Behind a solid performance on all sides, this was coach Andrew Breiner’s first Patriot League win as a head coach. The Fordham Rams return to action next Saturday, October 15, as they host Yale University on Jack Coffey Field at 1:00 p.m. Post Views: 1,294 The following two tabs change content below.BioLatest Posts Jason Cordner Latest posts by Jason Cordner (see all) Lebron James Leaves Coca-Cola To Sign With Pepsi - March 22, 2021 WNBA Rolling Out Red Carpet For Upcoming 25th Anniversary Season - March 16, 2021 Nike Partners with National Urban League to Promote Employment and Home Ownership for the Black Community - March 15, 2021 Rob Gronkowski Gets In On NFT Collection Movement, Becomes First Athlete To Do So - March 10, 2021 Related TopicsChase EdmondsCollege FootballFordhamKevin AndersonLafayette Click to comment You must be logged in to post a comment Login Leave a Reply Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
