Knights in the NFL – Week 13

Indianapolis linebacker and defensive captain, Gary Brackett, returned to the field after missing three games due to a foot injury. Brackett and the Indianapolis Colts lost a tough overtime game to the Dallas Cowboys by a score of 38-35. Brackett is our Week 13 Knight of the Week after recording 10 tackles and a pass deflection in the loss.

Week 13 in the NFL was fairly quiet for our former Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Just three teams with former Rutgers players won this week.

Indianapolis linebacker and defensive captain, Gary Brackett, returned to the field after missing three games due to a foot injury. Brackett and the Indianapolis Colts lost a tough overtime game to the Dallas Cowboys by a score of 38-35. Brackett is our Week 13 Knight of the Week after recording 10 tackles and a pass deflection in the loss.

Eric Foster, Brackett’s teammate made three tackles for the Colts who are now just 6-6 on the year.

Rookie offensive lineman Anthony Davis started once again for the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers fell to the Green Bay Packers, 34-16.

The Jacksonville Jaguars continue to position themselves for a playoff appearance. This week, they defeated the Tennessee Titans, 17-6. Jaguars safety Courtney Greene made two tackles in the win. His teammates, Kevin Haslam and Tiquan Underwood were both inactive this week for Jacksonville.

Wide receiver Kenny Britt missed his fourth straight game for Tennessee. Britt is still recovering from a hamstring injury and was listed as questionable heading into the game. Titans cornerback Jason McCourty did play but did not record any stats in the loss.

Ray Rice and the Baltimore Ravens were held down by the Pittsburgh Steelers this week. In the defensive battle, Rice had little room to run. The running back carried the ball just nine times for 32 yards and caught two passes for 18 yards. Baltimore lost 13-10.

New York Giants center Shaun O’Hara remains out with a foot injury. The Giants put together a convincing 31-7 win over the Washington Redskins.

Nate Jones and the Denver Broncos lost to the Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 10-6. Jones made two tackles for the Broncos defense. After the game, Denver fired their coach, Josh McDaniels.

The San Diego Chargers lost to the Oakland Raiders 28-13. Ryan Neill is on injured reserve for the Chargers.

Clark Harris handled the long snapping duties for the Cincinnati Bengals while Brian Leonard made a few plays out of the backfield. The Bengals lost a close contest with the New Orleans Saints, 34-30. Leonard had one carry for four yards and caught three passes for a total of 24 yards in the loss.

Offensive lineman Jeremy Zuttah got the start for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week. The Bucs were defeated by the Atlanta Falcons, 28-24.

Gary Gibson has started every game along the St. Louis Rams defensive line this season. The Rams have been one of the surprise teams this year. Gibson recorded one tackles in the St. Louis 19-6 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

Monday Night Football had what was expected to be showdown between the New York Jets and New England Patriots. It turned out to be a blow out, 45-3, win by New England. Rookie of the Year candidate Devin McCourty made three tackles from his cornerback position for the Patriots. He also had a pass deflection and an interception.

It was McCourty’s fourth straight game with a pass deflection and third straight with an interception. He has four interceptions in the last three games and six total on the year.

Jamaal Westerman did play for the New York Jets but did not record any stats.
