Photo Credit: New York LIzards Lacrosse Lizards drop to 0-3 with loss to Bayhawks by Chris Passarelli June 16, 2019 The New York Lizards may have a dynamic offense on paper, but it hasn’t translated to any wins on the field. The ‘Zards dropped to 0-3 Saturday night with a 16-14 loss to the Chesapeake Bayhawks at Shuart Stadium on the campus of Hofstra University. The Lizards got a three goal, two assist night out of Rob Pannell as well as two goals from Justin Reh, Nick Aponte and Greg Puskuldijan. Austin Kaut made 12 saves for the Lizards but it wasn’t enough to stop Chesapeake, who stormed back in the fourth quarter, outscoring New York 5-2. The game was close for all four quarters, with the two teams being tied 9-9 at halftime and the Lizards holding a 12-11 lead going into the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, the ‘Zards couldn’t close out the game and find themselves in the cellar of the MLL. In order for the Lizards to get back to .500 they’ll now need to win their next three games, all tough ones. Their next matchup will be on the road against the Boston Cannons. Their approach is to take things one game at a time, but at this point in the season it’s pretty much do or die.
