Wings take Flight in Win over Riptide

Philadelphia: As everyone knows the sports history of Philadelphia vs New York, a new chapter was created on Friday night as the Philadelphia Wings took on New York Riptide from the Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia.  The Wings come into the game with a 4-2 record and off a win over Rochester on January 19 while New York heads to Philly at 1-5 and got their first win of the season with OT win over Georgia on January 18.

The first half of this game was very exciting with a lot of scoring and big hits, the Wings took a 4-3 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Riptide would rally back to get the game tied at five and that would be the score at halftime.

In the second half, the Wings would take complete control as New York did not have an answer to stop the Wings. Brett Hockey had one hell of a game as he would score five goals.

The Wings took down Riptide 14-6 and the crowd of 7,183 saw the Wings pick up their second win against New York and also remain undefeated at home as they are now 3-0.

The Wings are now 5-2 on the season and will look for win number six when they battle Georgia on January 31.
