Kyle Bolin (Getty Images) Two weeks ago, Rutgers coach Chris Ash had mentioned that the team would not pursue a graduate transfer at quarterback. Then, when Zach Allen injured his ACL, causing him to miss the upcoming 2017 season, Coach Ash reassessed the quarterback situation and mentioned, “exploring all options.” The Scarlet Knights may have found their starting quarterback Wednesday. Former Louisville quarterback Kyle Bolin took to Twitter to announce his decision to play “On the Banks.” Bolin, a graduate transfer, is eligible to play immediately. httpss://twitter.com/_kb14_/status/857249764668264448 Bolin took an official visit to Rutgers last weekend to watch the spring game. He had originally visited Cincinnati, and was recruited by Texas and Northwestern. Bolin is a former 4-star recruit. As former Heisman candidate Lamar Jackson’s backup, the 6’2’’ Bolin appeared in seven games last season. He completed 18 of 27 passes with just one interception. Bolin threw for two touchdowns in Louisville’s first game, against Charlotte. His numbers were more noteworthy in 2015, when he was 78 for 137 with seven interceptions and accumulated 1,154 passing yards. From Louisville, a former Big East rival of Rutgers, the Scarlet Knights add an experienced quarterback to their thin mix of signal callers that includes junior Giovanni Rescigno and walk-on Troy Anthony. Rescigno played all four quarters of the Scarlet and White Spring Game; he was 18-for-30 with a touchdown.
