Soccer NWSL Rookie Report: Kristin Grubka by Staff Post July 29, 2015 Kristin Grubka Experience: Rookie Team: Sky Blue FC Drafted: Round 2, Pick 10 Whether you start the match or enter as a sub, what is your objective? Just to make an impact on the game, do the best I can, and do my best for the team. What’s your mentality before entering each match? Just go out there and do my best, work the hardest, and make sure they don’t score. What is the most important thing you do to recover? Definitely take care of my body. Ice baths, drink lots of water, just get Gatorade, food, and everything else in me. Now I heard you have a Red Bull before each match, is it your good luck charm? I don’t know! It keeps me focused and I’ve been doing it since college before every game, so it’s just a tradition I’ve carried on. Coming into the league who were you most looking forward to play against? Probably all the past Florida State University players that I played with or who have come back and trained with me at FSU, so definitely all of them. Throughout each game has there been a certain player that presents a challenge? I think all the forwards in the league do a pretty good job at attacking us and getting penetrating runs through our defense. They’re a challenge. What do you want to achieve by the end of the season? Definitely be winning multiple games and close out the season with a lot of wins. Thank you to Kristin for taking the time to speak with us.
