College Rutgers WBB continue their hot start as they demolish Niagara 87-37 by Dushawn London November 15, 2019 Junior Forward Arella Guirantes shined, scoring 24 points to help the Rutgers Scarlet Knights defeat Niagara, 87-37, Wednesday night at the RAC. The Knights started off the game hot going up 24-11 after one quarter. The Purple Eagles were never able to get anything going, shooting 20% from the field and 13% from three. Junior forward Mael Giles was very active on the defensive end with 3 steals. Along with the defense she also put up 10 points and 16 rebounds. Tekia Mack scored 15 points with 4 assists. Coach Vivian Stringer had high praise for graduate Student Khadaizha Sanders. When asked about her senior guard, Stringer said, “Good to have her back, she knows what she has to do and shes the ultimate point guard.” Sanders is a major piece to the Knights as her senior leadership can help this newer team overcome obstacles the Big 10 has to offer. Saturday marked the third straight game in which the Knights were in complete control from start to end. This team looks forward to continuing its formidability on defense and go into Big 10 play undefeated. Rutgers hopes to continue their strong play Sunday as they host Harvard Sunday afternoon at 2.
