College Seton Hall Basketball is looking to fill Voids by Staff Post October 8, 2015 Seton Hall basketball/NJ.com The Seton Hall University men’s basketball team kicked off an early practice on Tuesday with plenty of heart, but the competition for positions has started to heat up. The Hall currently has three solid positions covered. Sophomore guards Isaiah Whitehead and Khadeen Carrington will be explosive for the Pirates, and big man and reigning BIG EAST Rookie of the Year Angel Delgado is currently ranked the ninth best power forward in the nation according to Lindy’s Sports. The “Big Three” of Whitehead, Delgado, and Carrington are sure fire starters for the Blue and White, but will need others to step up and fill the voids that have been left behind. There has been an intensity to start the preseason, and their looks to be many options for head coach Kevin Willard. The most important spot to fill is in the front court as the competition to join Delgado is well underway. The competition between Braeden Anderson, a Fresno State transfer, Desi Rodriguez who will make the move from power forward to wing, Veer Singh from Jersey City who can shoot and will see plenty of time, and redshirt freshman Michael Nzei, who is unpredictable nut could definitely give the Pirates some help in the backcourt. Each of these guys as well as sophomore Ismael Sanogo will see plenty of minutes as they each posses different skills. The variety of talent across the lineup for the Piratescould be crucial down the stretch, but as for right now the players competing for starting jobs continue to push each other. Kevin Willard will definitely have some decisions to make, but as far as a team with role players, he has plenty of options to succeed in the BIG EAST.
