Football Super Bowl 2019 Predictions and Odds by Guest January 28, 2019 In the first week of February, the event that all Americans eagerly await, from sports fans to vendors and companies who plan on sky-rocketing their profits, is finally coming to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Yes, it is Super Bowl season, and the excitement and anticipation are through the roof! It will be an indoor venue again this year, so weather will not be playing a deciding role in the home town of NFL’s Atlanta Falcons. This is the third time that Atlanta will be hosting the game in the history of Super Bowl, the first two being in 1994 and 2000, taking place in the now-demolished Georgia Dome. It was only last year, in the Super Bowl 52, when the Philadelphia Eagles smashed the New England Patriots in a thrilling game that ended 41-33 and rewrote the offensive record book. A lot of people had even staked their money on the tremendous showdown on sites like 888sports, Betrally and MyBookie. It was a festival that time of the year, as it always is, and this year is planned to be no different than the many last. This year the final confrontation has brought the New England Patriots to the Super Bowl field again, but this time they face not the Eagles, but rather the Los Angeles Rams. As the odds stand, Bill Belichick’s New England Patriots find themselves the favorites to win Super Bowl 53. They are the potential home team this season and will don their dark throwback—superstitiously. Some say its bad news since white jerseys have been killing it of late overall. The point spread had opened with the Rams at one-point favorites after the AFC Championship Game, but it was not long before the Patriots succeeded in dislodging them from the pedestal and installing themselves as a two-point favorite in most sportsbooks (if you wish to find a site to bet on the upcoming game, topbettingwebsites.co.uk is your best chance to discover your perfect fit). The difference has now climbed to 2.5 points in many sportsbooks, with a couple even going so far as to projecting three points, while the over-under for total points scored is 57, after opening at 58, in the latest Patriots vs Rams odds. Yes, the game is definitely on! The Los Angeles Rams rallied for a 26-23 victory over the Saints in the AFC Championship—mostly thanks to Greg Zuerlein’s 57-yard field goal overtime—while the New England Patriots managed to peep out an overtime victory over the Chiefs to reach their ninth Super Bowl since 2002. Both teams won their conference championship titles for only the fourth time since the merger, and both matches went to overtime, which is something that has never happened before. According to SportsLine’s No. 1 NFL expert, R.J. White, the Patriots possess one of the league’s top offenses, coming to a position of fourth in the league with 27.2 points per game. That number has now swollen to 39 after two playoff games. With Tom Brady leading the Patriot’s devastating ninth-ranked pass attack, with 29 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in the regular season, along with a very effective fifth-ranked rushing attack, the Los Angeles Patriot’s will be a foe to reckon with. Sony Michel in rookie shoes has also been an effective steal, with 931 yards in a regular season, and 242 yards and five touchdowns in two playoff games to his name. The Rams lay claim to one of the most disruptive defensive lines in the league, led by defensive tackle Aaron Donald. Donald boasts leading the NFL with 20.5 sacks in the regular season, while fellow defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh can also take pride in creating havoc amongst enemy lines for the Rams in the NFL playoffs with 1.5 recorded sacks against Drew Brees and the Saints in the NFL title game. White predicts that in order for the Rams to pull off an upset and stop the Pat’s from winning the Lombardi Trophy in the Super Bowl, their third-down defense will be most crucial in stopping Brady and company. The Patriots have successfully converted 14-of-19 third-down tries against Kansas City in the AFC Championship Game and have also moved the fetters on 20-of-33 third-down attempts in the 2019 NFL playoffs. The Rams, on the other hand, have allowed opposing offenses to convert only 7-of-24 third-down tries in two preseason games. It is clear that both teams are well-matched and strong, and both have reached their places in the Super Bowl line-up in a deserving manner (they are there, so they must be deserving). To know who wins, we will have to wait for the 3rd of February, but before that, the tension is going to be through the roof for die-hard fans, and who knows how fast hearts will be throbbing in the field. Fingers crossed!
