Events Travis Pastrana Bringing Nitro Circus Live to Prudential Center Nitro Circus will be performing at Prudential Center May 14. by Judythe Ann Michelle May 11, 2015 Nitro Circus Live Show 1 at Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan on March 7th 2015 Chances are, even if you are not a fan of action sports, you might consider becoming one if you happened to meet up with Travis Pastrana and had the opportunity to sit down and spend a few minutes talking with him. He just seems to be one of those guys, whom are impossible not to like, a superstar with a personality that’s far more down to earth than those ramps he’s busy building. Of course, if you are a fan of action sports then by all means, you’re probably a huge fan for all he’s done on his bike, in addition to his being a very nice guy. Being a fan, you probably know all about Travis, and his stellar career. You most likely witnessed him in action, and have seen him win countless awards for doing tricks that defy the realm of sanity. Oh and it’s not just his bike he’s done tricks on. Of course, that was him who jumped out of the airplane without a parachute. Rumor has it, he said if he did not come down then he died happy. Of course, he came down and if his million-dollar smile is any indication of how he feels about where he’s landed, he’s just as happy with all he’s doing here on the ground. So what is Travis up to now? Well, besides recently getting married to another action packed superstar, Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins, and having two beautiful daughters, Addy and Bristol, he’s gone and created his own circus. That circus, Nitro Circus, just so happens to be making its way to the Prudential Center, located in Newark, New Jersey this coming Thursday, May 14. Getting the call to talk with Travis Pastrana, about Nitro Circus, as well as, learn a little bit more about his personal ambitions was for me, a wonderful opportunity. So what is there to share about Travis Pastrana, that his fans may not already know, and what’s in store for those who are heading over to the Prudential Center, this coming Thursday evening, to take in the extraordinary show? For one thing, Travis would love for everyone to come out and see his new family in action: that family being his, Nitro Circus Family. Getting the chance to speak with Travis Pastrana was very cool, indeed. What made it so special was that he spent most of the time talking about others, as opposed to himself. He was less interested in talking about all he’s done on his bike than he was in talking about others. He spoke about the joy his wife and daughters have brought into his life, and about how important it is to make the sports he’s involved with as safe as possible. Additionally, he wanted to talk about the amazing accomplishments of the up and coming stars, of Nitro Circus. For example, he brought up Josh Sheehan whom just so happened to recently make history with that triple flip. Haven’t seen it yet? If not, by all means head over and follow Josh, on Twitter @Sheenyfmx. He also shared some awesome photos showing Brandon Schmidt in action. You’ll be able to see the tweets about history in the making, and learn more about his action packed flips. You could also learn more about Josh’s jump, if you look to follow @NitroCircus on Twitter. There you’ll find a tweet with the link to the “first ever triple backflip on a motorcycle.” Oh and if you’re wondering just what the hashtag was used by @NitroCircus, when the link was tweeted, it’s appropriately tagged #TheUnthinkable. Throughout my time speaking with Travis, I wanted to know a bit about his thoughts on role models. What I wanted to learn most is what message did he want to share with the children who may look up to him? When asked if he ever took over an elementary school classroom for a day, what would be the one thing he would want to teach the children? Travis shared, that he felt if given that chance, he would want to share about how it’s not just talent that matters. For him, he knew he wanted to be riding dirt bikes since he was three years old. Yet, even though some might say he was born to ride, and given a natural ability to do so, he believes it was hard word and dedication that meant most to his success. “Having talent is not going to be what gets you where you want to be,” he said. In his opinion, “It’s so much more about showing up for practice, working hard, and being dedicated. Don’t worry about the sponsors, if you do that, chances are they will come.” Obviously for Travis, the hard work and dedication has paid off. He’s managed to do so much in his first thirty-one years, and it sure seems that he’s going to continue on an amazing journey. It will be wonderful to see him, and the rest of the Nitro Circus family perform this Thursday night, at the Prudential Center. Looking forward to seeing you there!
