Photo by Joel Muniz on Unsplash NEWS UFC Fight Night Alert: Overeem vs. Sakai by Candace Cordelia September 5, 2020 September 5 marks another exciting UFC Fight Night on ESPN+, with 21-year veteran Alistair Overeem facing Augusto Sakai as the main event. The fight will be Sakai’s first UFC main event of his MMA career. In a preview video for the highly-anticipated match, Sakai says that it’s a “great honor” to face Overeem. “Ever since I won the Contender, I wanted to be in the main event. I’m looking for my dream, which is a belt and nothing else,” he adds. A slew of other bouts on the card preceding Overeem vs. Sakai includes Ultimate Fighter reality competition star Sijara Eubanks vs. Karol Rosa in the bantamweight class, Alexandr Romanov vs. Marcos Rogerio De Lima in the heavyweight class and Michael Pereira vs. Zelim Imadaev for the welterweight, among others. UFC FIGHT NIGHT ON ESPN+: Overeem vs. Sakai airs Saturday, September 5 in both English and Spanish. The prelims are scheduled to begin 5 p.m. ET and the main card starts at 8 p.m. ET.
