College 22 Members of RU Football Program Graduate by Staff Post May 18, 2015 On Sunday, Rutgers University held their graduation commencement at High Point Solutions Stadium, and 22 members in and around the football program earned their degrees. On Saturday, the team held their own small ceremony at the Hale Center near the Stadium. Former Scarlet Knights like New Orleans Saints wide receiver Brandon Coleman and Northern Iowa running back Savon Huggins came back to Piscataway to take part in the festivities. Coleman left Rutgers early to enter the NFL Draft, but signed with the team as an undrafted free agent. Huggins earned his degree early from Rutgers, and transferred to Northern Iowa for his final year of eligibility. Huggins missed last season with Rutgers due to injury and redshirted. Another notable graduate is Detroit Lions fifth-round selection in this years draft Michael Burton. Here is the full list of football graduates (from NJ.com): DB Johnathan Aiken OL Taj Alexander Student assistant Sean Barowski FB Sam Bergen QB Mike Bimonte K Nick Borgese OL Betim Bujari FB Michael Burton WR Brandon Coleman K Nick DeLouisa CB Gareef Glashen RB Savon Huggins DE Myles Jackson RB Paul James DT Kenneth Kirksey OL Bryan Leoni LB Joey Lohmann OL Keith Lumpkin OL Anthony Milito DB Iyan Ogbevoen DB Wayne Warren LB Dallas Whitaker *** In addition, Rutgers men’s basketball coach Eddie Jordan earned his degree in Labor and Employment Relations and partook in a ceremony at the RAC on Saturday. Originally Jordan was going for a Physical Education degree from 1973-77, but that major is no longer offered at Rutgers so Jordan had to change majors and earn the leftover credits taking eight classes over the last two years.
