College Rowan Basketball Squads Set to Kick Off 2015-16 Season by Stephen Ur November 12, 2015 (Via Rowan Athletics) The Rowan University Owls men’s basketball team will begin their season against Salisbury University in Chester, PA tomorrow. The game against Salisbury is the first of two games that the Owls will play tomorrow. They will also play against Washington College (MD). The consolation game and championship game will take place on Saturday. The games they will play tomorrow and Saturday will be part of one of two tournaments the Owls will participate in to begin the season. The first tournament that they will be playing in is called Widener Tip-Off for Autism Awareness. The second tournament, which is called the Rinso Marquette Tournament, be played in Annville, PA on Nov. 20 and Nov. 21. The Owls will play against Wilkes University and Penn State Abington. Like the first tournament, the consolation and championship game will be played on the Saturday. They will only play one game between the two tournaments, their home opener against Neumann University on Thursday, Nov. 17. Other big games during the season include a game against The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) on faculty/staff day on Saturday, Dec. 5 and a 7k Giveaway Game against Montclair State University on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016. While the men play in a tournament in Chester, PA, the women’s basketball team will be in Grantham, PA, participating in the Hampton Inn Tip-Off Classic. They will play against Lehman College and Susquehanna University tomorrow, with the consolation and championship game being play Saturday. They will also participate in another tournament, the Cabrini College Classic, in Radnor, PA on Dec. 30 and Dec. 31. The Lady Owls will play against Eastern University and Widener University on Dec. 30 and will close out 2015 in a game against Eastern University and Cabrini College on New Year’s Eve. Like the men, the women will play TCNJ on Dec. 5 on Faculty/Staff Day and they will also play Montclair State University on Feb. 10, 2016 during a 7k Giveaway game.
