MMA Werdum vs. Velasquez II Added to Dec. 30th Card by Kristine Haugsjaa October 6, 2016 Photo Credit: FOXSports.com And we have ourselves a rematch, folks! Former UFC heavyweight champions Fabricio Werdum and Cain Velasquez will meet in the octagon for the second time on December 30th in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to Kings MMA coach Rafael Cordiero. “Beniel Dariush is representing our team on 5 November in Mexico City and Werdum on December 30 in Vegas against Cain Velasquez. Go with everything!” wrote Cordeiro on his Instagram account. Werdum and Velasquez’s first meeting was under championship circumstances when the two met in Mexico City at UFC 188. Werdum defeated Velasquez to win the heavyweight title via 3rd round submission. Werdum then lost the title to now-champion Stipe Miocic at UFC 198 in May via first round knock out. Both are coming off impressive wins over Travis Browne in the last couple months. After seeing a healed and dominate Velasquez at UFC 200 in July, will he take the ‘W’ in this sequel?
