UPDATE: Rutgers head coach Kyle Flood announced today that the five players that were suspended due to arrest (Nadir Barnwell, Dre Boggs, Razohnn Gross, Ruhaan Peele, Delon Stephenson) have been dismissed from the team.

Greetings from High Point Solution Stadium. The Rutgers Scarlet Knights kick off their season at noon today on a gorgeous day with temperatures in the low 80’s in Piscataway against Norfolk State.

Some things of note regarding the depth chart.

With the indefinite suspensions of multiple members in the secondary from the arrests made on Thursday in free safety Delon Stephenson, and cornerbacks Ruhaan Peele and Nadir Barnwell, Rutgers top four cornerbacks will have never played a collegiate snap.

Getting the start at corner will be true freshman Blessuan Austin and redshirt freshman Isaiah Wharton. Behind them are true freshman in Jarius Adams and Ronnie James.

Anthony Cioffi, who moved to free safety, will get the start, getting backed up by redshirt freshman Saquan Hampton.

Davon Jacobs remains the starting strong safety, but with redshirt freshman backup Kiy Hester out due to injury, sophomore Andre Hunt is behind Jacobs.

Freshman Anthony Folkerts is listed as the backup fullback to Sam Bergen as former backup Razohnn Gross is also suspended due to his arrest.
