Boxing Live Stream: Claressa Shields v. Christina Hammer Weigh-In The final faceoff will take place before history is made in New Jersey by Daniel Yanofsky April 12, 2019 History will be made inside Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City when Claressa Shields faces off against Christina Hammer. The main event of the Showtime-produced show, Shields will be defending her IBF, WBA and WBC Middleweight Titles while Hammer will defend her WBO Title. The new Ring Middleweight Title will also be up for grabs. Before the two decide who the top fighter at middleweight is, Shields (8-0) and Hammer (24-0) will face off one last time at the weigh-ins. The ceremony is expected to start at 2:30 p.m. ET and you can watch it via the above video. Prior to the weigh-ins, the two had a chance to speak in New York City about their opponent. Shields, ever the trash-talker, did not hold back when discussing the caliber of a fighter Hammer is. “I’m glad Hammer is here and we’re really going to fight,” Shields stated. “She’s tough, but I’ve beat girls way stronger, faster and taller than her over and over again. I can’t wait to do it again on Saturday.” Hammer is an international star, having fought all over Germany. This will be her second time fighting in the United States. Her last bout was a unanimous decision victory over Tori Nelson back in June. While hesitant to fight on U.S. soil, a bout against Shields was enticing enough. “I know that it’s a risk to come from Germany to the U.S. to fight Shields,” Hammer stated. “But I have done everything to bring it to her and break her down round-by-round. I want to show the people who the real champion is. A real champion fights everyone, all over the world. Tickets for Shields v. Hammer are still available now.
