Lizards fall to Rattlers down in Texas

The New York Lizards seem to have gotten off on the wrong foot the entire season, and Saturday night was no different when they faced the Dallas Rattlers at The Star in Frisco, TX.  The Lizards lost 15-11 and dropped to a season worst 3-8.

It was a valiant effort from the ‘Zards but they were outshot 29-21 and trailed 9-7 at halftime and 13-9 heading into the fourth quarter.  Rob Pannell was fantastic as always, scoring two goals and adding two assists, including this smooth one;

The breakout player of the game for New York was Brendan Kearns, who also had two goals and two assists, including his first professional goal;

Kevin Crowley had two goals and an assist, Justin Reh had two goals and Austin Kaut made six saves.  Unfortunately, the Lizards also had 18 turnovers compared to Dallas’ 10.

The Lizards return to action Saturday night August 17th, when they host the Atlanta Blaze in a 7 PM face-off on “Back To School” night at Shuart Stadium on the campus of Hofstra University. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a drawstring bag complements of Northwell Health.
