After a goalless draw against the Rapids to open the season, the Union traveled to Utah to take on Real Salt Lake.  They seemed to fix their offense scoring three times in the altitude, but the defense was exposed allowing three goals to share the points in game two.

A trip back home to face FC Dallas had Union fans thinking this may be the game to garner win number one.  Delayed a day by snow, the Union’s home struggles continued as they have no opened the season with three hours of no goals in front of the Sons of Ben.

Dallas took all three points after a monumental mistake by Zach Pfeffer of the Union.

Mauro Diaz of Dallas got to a ball just ahead of Pfeffer and Pfeffer’s challenge was deemed reckless and he was shown a straight red card that meant an ejection from the game.

Reduced to ten men the Union were on the defensive.

A through ball got to the feet of Tesho Akindele and after a deft first touch, he fired one past the keeper to give FC Dallas the lead in the 49th minute.

Dallas put the game away in the 59th minute when substitute Ryan Hollingshead found the net from virtually the same spot.

The Union were spirited coming up with 5 shots on target, but keeper Chris Seitz was equal to the test coming up with the 5 saves he needed.

The Union will look to halt the winless streak when they travel to Chicago for a nationally televised game next week.
