College Princeton, Harvard Rivalry Continues As Tigers Look For Revenge by Stephen Ur October 23, 2015 (Photo by Beverly Schaefer, GoPrincetonTigers.com) The Princeton Tigers football team will play their second consecutive road game when they travel to take on Harvard tomorrow afternoon. They are coming off of a 38-31 loss to Brown. In that game, quarterback Chad Kanoff threw two interceptions and the Tigers turned the ball over twice late in a game they never led. The Tigers did stick around, however, and even had a chance to tie the game after Brown scored on a seven-yard touchdown run from running back Johnny Pena. The loss was their first of the season after winning their first four games by an average of 21.5 points. Princeton is a team that can put up a lot of points, and their defense knows how to hold off opposing offenses. On the other side of the ball, Harvard is a very dominant team on the ball themselves, perhaps more dominant. They’ve won all five of their games by an average of 36.2 points. This will be an interesting matchup as a Princeton offense that averages 35.4 points per game goes up against a powerful Harvard defense that allows just eight points per game. Princeton will also be looking for revenge after last year’s beatdown against Harvard. They lost last year’s meeting by a score of 49-7. In that game, Harvard scored the first 49 points of the game. The 42-point win was the largest margin of victory for either team in the rivalry’s 107-year history. Besides that game, Princeton and Harvard have provided quite exciting games over the years. Princeton won the past two meetings by the slimmest of margins. In 2013, they came back from down 20-0 and then 34-10 win the game by a score of 39-34. Last season, Princeton and Harvard played to triple overtime, where Princeton won the game by a score of 51-48. Let’s hope for another classic between these two century-long rivals.
