Soccer Red Bulls drop match to Montreal Impact, now head to Dallas by Dushawn London May 9, 2019 New York Red Bulls 1, Montreal Impact 2 2019 MLS Regular-Season Match 10 Wednesday, May 8, 2019 – 8 p.m. ET Red Bull Arena | Harrison, N.J. The New York Red Bulls looked to continue their momentum after their impressive 3-2 victory over LA Galaxy on Saturday. Aaron Long opened up scoring for the Red Bulls after Marc Rzatkowski swung a free kick into the box for Long to head in the game’s first goal in the 36th minute. Longs effort was not enough as the Impact scored two back to back late goals on set pieces to grab the win. The Red Bulls started off the game with serious momentum as Daniel Royer had an early shot on goal in the 8th minute. After a lot of back and forth play, Aaron Long opened up scoring for the Red Bulls. Marc Rzatkowski swung a free kick into the box for Long to head in the game’s first goal in the 36th minute. Long’s goal brought the Red Bulls into the locker room with a 1-0 lead. The game took a major turn in the 64th minute as defender Zakaria Diallo opened up scoring for the Impact (assisted by Maximiliano Urruti). 13 minutes later , Montreal were awarded a penalty Kick after defender Aaron Long knocked down forward Anthony Jackson-Hamel in the box. Urruti stepped up to the spot and sent the ball low and to the right corner, putting Montreal up 2-1 on the night. After Wednesday nights game, New York completed their three-match homestand, taking six of nine points (2-1-0) at Red Bull Arena. The Red Bulls look to have better results as they take on FC Dallas, Saturday May 11 at Toyota Stadium.
